A landmark in Woodward, once serving as a watering hole for cattle drives, Crystal Beach Park has undergone a $25 million renovation and redesign to make it a treasure for the community and a destination spot for visitors to the area. State of the art playground equipment is found throughout the park which is centered around a beautiful, spring-fed lake where fish are plentiful. Woodward’s new family aquatics center is attracts large crowds throughout the summer and early fall. Water fun will include zero-entry swimming pools (including a lap pool), waterslides, and multiple play features.
Scheduled for opening in 2010 is the newly renovated Fuller Baseball Park, a new baseball/softball complex. Woodward looks forward to hosting many regional competitions at these first-class facilities. Additionally, the Elks Rodeo Arena has been renovated, redesigned, and renamed Crystal Beach Arena. The arena is the site of Oklahoma’s oldest continuous PRCA rodeo and hosts junior high and high school rodeos on a regular basis. The arena is also a great spot for hosting concerts and special entertainment events.
Crystal Beach Park contains tennis courts, horseshoe courts, picnic areas and pavilions throughout. Crystal Beach Park is the home of the Woodward County Fairgrounds, a frequent site for livestock shows as well as festivals and expos.
