Oklahoma University Head Baseball Coach Sunny Golloway has confirmed a trip to Woodward

Oklahoma University Head Baseball Coach Sunny Golloway has confirmed a trip to Woodward on Wednesday, Aug. 18, for a golf outing at Boiling Springs and OU Club of Woodward rally/fundraiser, membership drive and meeting. The OU booster function is being sponsored by the club.
Golloway will bring with him two former players, Damon Minor and Dusty Hansen, and several other OU dignitaries, including Michael Dean, director of marketing and development for the University of Oklahoma Alumni Association. Minor, who went to high school at Hammon, is a former big leaguer and both he and Hansen, a native of Shattuck, were players when the Sooners won a baseball national championship in 1994.
The Sooners are coming off their best season since the national championship year, when Golloway was an assistant coach under Larry Cochell. In 2010 OU finished the season with a 50-18 record, a trip to the College World Series and number 10 national ranking.
Perry Thomas, the OU Club’s event organizer, said Golloway and the other OU representatives will be here early to participate in a golf scramble at Boiling Springs beginning at 10:30 a.m. He expects to also have one and maybe two mascots, Boomer and/or Sooner; an assistant coach and possibly some cheerleaders and another player or two.
Anyone wanting to play golf with Golloway and party will be required to pay $50, which will include green fee, golf cart and lunch. Proceeds above costs will go to the club.
After playing golf, Golloway has invited area coaches to a meeting from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Pioneer Room on Ninth Street just north of City Hall in Woodward. Afterwards from 6:00 to 8:00, the club will host the OU group for a membership drive, fundraiser and hamburger feed. Golloway will speak to the crowd and there will be photo opportunities for those in attendance.
