  7. Alabaster Caverns State Park Annual "Bat Wing-Ding"

    April 2, 2021 - April 3, 2021 @ Alabaster Caverns State Park

Bat Wing-Ding is a time for games, exhibits, programs and discussions based on those small flying mammals that are so mysterious to us all. On the evening of April 2nd, join the "Bat-Pros" at the Cavern entrance to view bats as they fly out in the night sky to feed on flying insects. The Bat-Pros will be using different types of scientific instruments to show you how bats are studied. On Saturday, see live bats, use your own observation skills and see if you can spot bats in their daytime roosts. Play almost a dozen games that relate back to bat facts and view Alabaster Caverns’ "Echolocation Grotto" traveling exhibit. Once again that evening, accompany bat professionals to the cavern entrance to detect bats as they emerge from Alabaster Caverns. All activities related to the “Wing-Ding” are free to the public. If you have any questions, please contact the park office at 580-621-3381, by email at or just send us a note here on Facebook!!!
