J & J Hunting

J&J Hunting was founded in 1999.  Owned & operated by John Miller.  The Headquarter ranch is Miller Ranch and was founded in 1959.  We have been working to improve the habitat since that time.  I was named by the Oklahoma Wildlife Department "2007 Landowner of the Year" for my habitat restoration and for my work with the Oklahoma Youth through the ODWC Youth Antlerless hunt.  We have hosted one hunt annually since 1999 having had 15 to 25 youth every year since then.  Many Oklahoma youths have taken their first deer here.  Many trophy bucks have been harvested here at J&J Hunting.  The biggest taken by rifle scored 175 on a main frame ten with 3 kickers.  In 2019, we found the remains of a buck that scored 180 with 21 points.  We had been watching this buck on camera for 4 years just waiting for him to get to this point.  We are not sure what killed him.  Our turkey population has dwindled since the drought, but our hunters still take mature birds with good beards and spurs and have a high 90% success rate.  The longest beard measured 11.5 inches and spurs measured 1.58 inches.  J&J Hunting has had 2 biologists, one state and one federal that said that Miller Ranch is in the Top 1 percent of the Nation for Quail Habitat.
