Discover Downtown Woodward with the Downtown Explorer Challenge

How well do you really know downtown Woodward?

Visit Woodward is inviting residents and visitors to find out with the Downtown Woodward Explorer Challenge, a free, self-guided scavenger hunt designed to encourage people to slow down, look a little closer, and discover some of the details that make historic downtown Woodward unique.

The challenge takes participants on a 0.8-mile route along Main Street, featuring 21 clues that highlight historic buildings, public art, local landmarks, architectural details, and other downtown features. Most participants can complete the challenge in approximately 30 to 45 minutes, making it an easy activity to enjoy while exploring downtown.

Participants can complete the challenge at their own pace and are encouraged to look up, look around, and pay attention to details they may have passed hundreds of times without noticing.

“Downtown Woodward is full of stories and little details that are easy to overlook when you're simply driving through,” said Megan Johnston, Tourism Director. “The Explorer Challenge is a fun way to get people out and walking downtown while learning a little more about the history and character of our community.”

The challenge is designed for all ages and can be enjoyed by longtime Woodward residents, families, visitors, and anyone interested in discovering more about the community.

And there’s a little something to take home when you finish.

After completing the challenge and submitting their answers, participants will receive an exclusive Downtown Woodward Explorer sticker and Woodward postcard commemorating their adventure. Participants will also have the opportunity to be entered into a monthly drawing for a local gift card.

The challenge also encourages participants to share their experience on social media using #VisitWoodward, giving others a glimpse of what they can discover along the route.

Whether you're a lifelong Woodward resident who thinks you know downtown by heart or a first-time visitor seeing it for the first time, the Downtown Woodward Explorer Challenge offers a new reason to explore, discover, and appreciate the heart of the community.

The Downtown Woodward Explorer Challenge is free to participate. Full instructions, challenge clues, submission information, and additional details are available at VisitWoodward.com/explore-downtown-woodward.
