Chicken Express is scheduled to reopen in Woodward by the end of September, restoring a fast, casual dining option that has previously served as a popular choice for the lunchtime crowd.
Located at 2205 Oklahoma Avenue, Chicken Express has been a frequent stop for many Woodward residents, workers, and visitors in the community. Favored by locals for its fried fish, sweet tea, spicy tenders, and mashed potatoes, the restaurant has historically drawn steady midday traffic.
“The reopening of Chicken Express is a welcomed addition to our local food options, especially during the busy lunch hours when so many in our community dine out,” said Terry Bryan, Director of Community Development Services. “We know how important lunch is in Woodward, and we’re always encouraged to see continued investment in the local business landscape.”
The restaurant last reopened in April 2019 before closing again in the fall of 2021. While operational timelines have varied in the past, preparations are actively underway to ensure a smooth return to service, pending final adjustments and staffing.
An official opening date and hours of operation will be announced once confirmed.
